These warm colors of pinks and orange evoke the heartfelt emotion of affection.

Week four!
Week four and the finished product of the graphite U.P. silhouette with trees! Slow week with half a charcoal birch tree, a watercolor valentines day card, burnt graphite drawing and the paper mâché sculpture in the works.
Bonding With The Landscape
The Redstarts (Warblers) on a Hemlock branch was done to THE GOAT RODEO SESSIONS, Yo Yo Ma…a goat rodeo is when “multiple conflicting elements all must be choreographed and aligned to avoid a chaotic result.” For this context, those elements are the branch design, needle placement, position of the birds, the male and female reproductive parts of the Hemlock, color, ink. I recognize the process is gaining strength. In this third piece, I felt less hesitant in the overall approach to design and balance. However, I’m finding it difficult to adhere to the 3 hr./day rule and tend to work longer most days. This, of course, has it’s consequences. Overall, I’m pleased with the effort and see improvement.
The Puppets Cast of Characters is Complete
30 Days and 30 unique sock puppets, actually more because I counted the aliens as 1. From day 31 on, I will be group the puppets and writing magnetic poetry to build the plot line of the story of the missing socks. The biggest obstacle is the limitation of the magnetic poetry words. I really have to stretch my brain to find a way to say what I want to say with a limited number of words. Below is one of the characters from days 21 through 30: The Diva.
Exploring in depth
I am going through all the plastic Cuttlebug folders that I might use with jewelry. I can see using bits or all of particular designs.
“Something Wicked this way comes…” A hectic piece #30
This piece has been the most fun headache I have ever created.
First I applied all the pen & ink work as I would my normal works I create.
Now I am applying all the simple watercolor washes throughout the piece in preparation of the Scratch Art portion of this piece.
As for Republic Arts Council “Mining the Arts” Festival the members continue to set up vendors, musicians and other entertainment.
The Township has been so helpful. We will have Main street closed along with connected side streets so everyone can walk freely without fear of vehicles. The few local businesses are readying themselves.
My biggest fear is the Artists and Craftpersons showing up.
These past 30 days of The 100 Day Project have been the busiest of my life and I know will get more and more hectic.
God help us 🙂

Wolves in the Snow
It’s finally snowing in Illinois! This makes me think wistfully of the northern woods and bogs. One of the mammals on my list to illustrate for the game Evolve! happened to be the gray wolf, Canis lupis. I doubt I’ll see any wolf prints in the snow this far south, but one can always hope.
