Blue Moons

As I was cutting these shapes I was struck by the blue spheres. A “blue moon” is a rare occurrence, but for this Collorage artistic license allows me multiple blue moons. 🙂

Motif

As I was rearranging these shapes and colors, I found a similarity to the motifs of Native American textiles and rugs emerging in the final composition.

When I cut shapes and colors out of magazines, I save them for future collages. I loved these two faces and was happy that they both found a home in this particular Collorage.

Project Exploration: Reconstruction to Construction

My project is about joyfully creating something out of nothing which gives me pleasure. The materials I use are pictures from discarded magazines which I transform into images that are meaningful to me. The first impact my images have on viewers is color. Therefore I call my collages “Collorages”.
